Another year of meaningful work featured in Vancouver’s Business Profiles of Excellence.

In October, our Director and Vice President, Candy Ho, spoke at the BC Senior Living Association. The Association was co-founded by Element President, Don Ho, and another industry leader, Stan Hindmarsh, who cared with their hearts. They founded that association in the early 2000s, personally contributing the dollars required to get it up and running. Today, the association represents 260 operators in BC and gives the BC Seal of Approval. Mr. Hindmarsh shared with Mr. and Ms. Ho how much he was inspired by her statement about Element’s vision becoming the pervasive model of living arrangements across all of society.

In November, Ms. Ho spoke again at the national Senbridge conference, sharing details of our intergenerational programming, the examples of how we have worked with municipalities to adapt their age covenant bylaws, and to think differently about providing for seniors – to approach it not as an isolated problem of a specific demographic, but one that really affects all ages. Restructuring living arrangements is one part in the puzzle, and we are honoured to be able to lead that conversation and movement.
